Wear It Pink For Breast Cancer Now

Every Breast Cancer Awareness month, wear it pink brings thousands of people together on one day with the same aim to wear pink, raise money and help make life-saving breast cancer research happen.

Last year wear it pink raised over £1.6million shared between 380 researchers at 31 institutions across the UK and Ireland, helpline nurses, patient information booklets and patients requests for 1-1 support.

LapSafe have taken part in this yearly event before but not for a few years. This year it is especially poignant to all the people that work here so we thought it would be an excellent idea to support and wear it pink.

On Friday 18th October staff were encouraged to wear something pink for a suggested donation of £1. Many members of the team also made cakes and savoury items including Sausage rolls, Victoria sponge and chocolate crunch cakes and a chocolate orange cheesecake.

Also set up was a small raffle to be drawn on the 18th in which colleagues were able to purchase tickets from the week before to make sure everyone had a chance win.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all colleagues here at LapSafe who supported, made cakes and took part on the day. The amount raised from the cakes, raffle and wear it pink donations totalled £200 which has now been forwarded to Breast Cancer Now.
