Press Release

LapSafe® Gone Walkabout

This September and October have seen LapSafe® Education Sales Manager Jamie Crathern travel a whopping 43,526 miles to customers and events in Hamilton, New Zealand and Queensland, Australia.

Now in the latter stages of the final event in Queensland, Jamie reflects "Although it has been a long and busy few weeks; both trips have been an outstanding success for LapSafe®". He went on to say; "I feel very privileged that LapSafe® were personally invited to attend both events".

In New Zealand, the rain fell from day one until Jamie left to return home!

The three day Tertiary ICT Conference was this year jointly supported and based at The Waikato Institute of Technology (WINTEC). It was attended by approximately 150 delegates and lead to us being introduced to many new contacts in New Zealand where we could explain the advantages of self-service laptop loans.

Jamie explained, "It was really advantageous to be able to give these new organisations a live on-site demonstration as we have a LapSafe® Diplomat™ unit in the library here at WINTEC". Most attendees were unaware that a solution like this existed and most were still using an outdated, time consuming manual loaning system to loan their laptops to students!

Eleven days after returning back in the UK, Jamie along with LapSafe® marketing colleague Debbie took another flight, this time to the sunnier climes of Queensland and the Gold Coast.

Following his successful initial contact with the Australia & New Zealand Regional ExLibris Group (ANZREG) earlier in the year; the group personally invited LapSafe® to attend and be one of just four sponsors for their annual conference.

Taking place in the stunning grounds of Bond University on the Gold Coast, this event has been a complete weather contrast as the Gold Coast are enjoying a hot and sunny springtime. Although a much smaller and exclusive event, it has allowed Jamie to engage with delegates while offering him the opportunity to visit existing LapSafe® sites in Australia.

Jamie continued, "It has been beneficial to be able to visit our existing customer University of Queensland while here on the Gold Coast".

"Although the ANZREG event in Queensland has been much more intimate than the event in New Zealand, it has been equally as important for building long term relationships with the ANZREG members and LMS provider ExLibris. The interest from new universities that I haven't yet been able to make contact with has been paramount".

Jamie will now be taking a flight down to Sydney for a few days before returning home to meet new customers and follow-up on previous meetings.
