A Sheerness Primary School were over the moon when they picked the winning key!

22nd March 2016

A school from Sheerness in Kent is celebrating after they scooped a prize haul worth more than £2,000 for their school after taking part in a competition at the Bett Education Show, London in January.

Entrants had to correctly order a set of planets that were situated on the Acer UK exhibition stand according to their distance from the sun. If they were placed in the correct order, they had the opportunity to pick a key from a bag containing lots of different keys. Using their chosen key they attempted to open six lockers. If the key opened one of the lockers, they would win the entire contents of the locker.

The prizes inside the locker were all donated by Acer UK and one of their new business partners, LapSafe® Products Ltd. The chosen locker picked by a representative of St George’s School consisted of three Acer Aspire Switch 10 E devices and a LapSafe® ClassBuddy™ 15. The ClassBuddy, storage and charging trolley provides safe simultaneous charging for the devices and offers a quick and easy way of managing them.

Teachers from St George’s Primary school visited the Bett Show and all decided to enter the competition on the ACER stand. One by one they had a go at opening up a locker and losing until it came to the turn of IT Technician, Ian Burrows. He stepped forward with his key and it opened the locker with the biggest prize inside. Linda Hassall, Head of Marketing, at Acer UK said “We always look forward to the BETT show, especially those days when students attend.  Their participation, feedback and impressions of our technology and solutions are very important to us.  Every year we try to make our stand as engaging as possible so that visitors can envision the benefits our technology could deliver for them. We’re thrilled that St George’s school took home one of the top prizes during their visit to our stand and hope it adds value to their learning.”

The presentation of the prizes is to be made to the school by LapSafe® Products and representatives from Acer UK during the school’s daily assembly on Monday 21st March.

Denise Crouch, Head of Sales and Marketing at LapSafe® Products said “We have recently been selected as Acer UK’s preferred supplier for storage and charging solutions, and to mark the event we donated a ClassBuddy trolley to Acer’s Bett competition. It is great to give something back to the education market and it’s a pleasure to see the prize go to such a worthy winner and inspirational school. It was a nice end to the Bett Show 2016.”
