LapSafe to showcase a range of FREE informative ‘Teacher best practice events’

<p>January 2015 is here, and this time next week 12 members of the LapSafe team will be once again wishing they could sit down and rest their sore feet, as next Wednesday will see the opening of the biggest and best education show in Europe.</p><p>Running from Wednesday 21st January to Saturday 24th January at Excel London, Bett 2015 will see <a href=”http://www.lapsafe.com/” target=”_blank”>LapSafe®</a> showcasing their extensive range of device management products together with new products and enhanced features. If that isn’t exciting enough, we will also be running a series of free ‘teacher best practice’ events throughout the show on stand F186. </p><p>The short sessions are designed to provide teachers with helpful information on how to make the most of new technologies and how using such technologies can enhance learning making the curriculum fun. </p><p>We have organised teachers and experts from within the education sector to each deliver small presentations, sharing their experiences and offering practical guidance and recommendations within their field.</p><p><img src=”http://www.lapsafe.com/login/resources/sms3-w640.jpg” alt=”” style=”float: left; height: 206px; width: 275px; margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px;”></p><p>To get the week off to a great start <a href=”http://elsium.co.uk/” target=”_blank”>Paul Hutton, from Elsium</a> will lead a fun, engaging and highly practical teaching session, ‘How to use iPads to engage learners with healthy eating and science’. This will take place on Wednesday 21st January at 11am. </p><p>Principle Mark Jones and his team from Belmont Castle School will be presenting alongside Apple solution experts, <a href=”http://www.toucancomputing.co.uk/” target=”_blank”>Toucan Computing</a> later that day at 3pm. Both will be sharing their experiences on ‘How Belmont Castle School has successfully implemented learning with iPads across all key stages.’</p><p>If you are thinking of offering self-service device loans within your University then don’t miss seeing Ian Spillane from <a href=”http://www.dcu.ie/” target=”_blank”>Dublin City University (DCU)</a>, present a brief talk on how DCU did exactly that.</p><p>Ian and his team at DCU decided to move away from a manned laptop loan service, and with the help of <a href=”http://www.lapsafe.com/products/fixed-charging/diplomat” target=”_blank”>LapSafe®’s award winning Diplomat™ LMS self-service device loan lockers</a> he successfully achieved his goal. Hear how Ian came to this decision, his experience of deployment and how it has helped to achieve their long term goal of sharing information and enhancing the students’ experience.</p><p>The Friday sessions will begin at 11am with magic and mystery, as <a href=”http://elsium.co.uk/” target=”_blank”>Paul Hutton from Elsium</a> will be taking more KS2 children through a fantasy workflow lesson using iPads to support Myths and Legends. With a mighty sword in one hand, and an iPad with a core of apps in the other, he will take them through their quest to save their fair land.</p><p>To conclude our Friday sessions, at 3pm LapSafe® will welcome <a href=”https://twitter.com/ictined” target=”_blank”>Apple Distinguished Educator, Andrew Goodgame</a>, supported by <a href=”http://www.toucancomputing.co.uk/” target=”_blank”>Toucan Computing</a>. This session will share with visitors how to maximize Apple’s resources to ensure that both students and teachers thrive with the iPad in a learning environment.</p><p><img src=”http://www.lapsafe.com/login/resources/techbot-600-1-w640.jpg” alt=”” style=”float: right; height: 158px; width: 206px; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;”></p><p>The Bett Show 2015 will also be the launch pad for LapSafe®’s ‘TechBot’ art competition. Primary and Junior schools are invited to enter this competition during January to March 2015 and the winning school will not only win five tablets for their school but also receive a Classbuddy™ Charge & Sync trolley with the winners drawing on the front doors. The student selected as the winner will also win a tablet for their own use with their drawing on a protective case.
