Day one Bett 2015

A chilly start to the day, but that didn’t stop the vast amount of visitors arriving for the first day of the Bett Show 2015 at Excel London. Today was the first of four days dedicated to education technology, new innovation and creative learning. So what’s new for Lapsafe®? 2015 sees the launch of the new Diplomat ™PIN charging lockers. A complete range of device charging lockers easily accessed via unique PIN code locks. LapSafe® has partnered with BeCode UK introducing their locks into the already successful Diplomat™ range. First impressions were well received. Throughout the show LapSafe are running a series of popular workflow lessons and presentations on their stand F186. http://www.lapsafe.com/bett/The first lesson kicked off at 11am with the children from Elm Park Primary School, who got really excited about healthy eating. Paul Hutton supporting Elsium iPad Training delivered an interactive lesson which incorporated the use of an iPad, a selection of apps, and a toothbrush! The science lesson came to life when the students videoed their teeth cleaning, highlighting their actions and results. The interactive lesson brought surprised visitors to stop and take note of just how easy delivering a science lesson can be using an iPad. In the space 45 minutes a complete lesson was delivered with the childrens’ results captured in their very own iBook. This year we were pleased to welcome members of Toucan Computing who assisted with enquiries throughout the day. In addition to this Toucan brought Principal Mark Jones, Emma Sanderson and students from Belmont Castle Academy, who presented the afternoon session. Belmont’s excited students shared how they make best use of their iPads in every classroom. Principal Mark Jones said “its not good enough for schools to just have the latest technology, you need teachers who embrace that technology with vision and imagination”. He is very proud of his staff and students who all embrace the technology to deliver outstanding learning results. Tomorrow presentation is by Ian Spillane from Dublin City University (DCU). Join us at 11am to hear how DCU and LapSafe® made it a first for the Emerald Isle.</p>
