Mobile Laptop Cart At University College Dublin Mobile laptop carts units - which hold 25 high-spec laptops, have wireless capabilities and the facility to recharge the machines when not in use - can be transported to lecture theatres, labs and classrooms as needed.
The Mobile Cart Pilot was intended to address the issue of alternative IT teaching facilities in areas where due to building constraints, costs and size, it has not have been feasible to provide them in the past.
In September 2005 two Colleges were chosen to participate in the Mobile Laptop Cart Pilot. One, a joint group from the College of Arts & Celtic Studies and College of Human Sciences. The second came from the College of Engineering, Mathematical and Physical Sciences.
Feedback from the pilot candidates regarding usage, benefits, weaknesses and experience gained from the use of the Mobile Cart will form the basis under which Mobile Carts will be deployed and managed in the future.
