Thieves steal laptop from Red Cross office
St. Joseph County, IN - The St. Joseph County Chapter of the American Red Cross started the day with an unwelcome surprise.
When employees arrived at work they discovered glass scattered on the floor. Red Cross employees say someone threw a large rock through an office window.
A thief stole a laptop from the building but employees say they are happy that was the only thing that was stolen.
Jeanette Simon, executive director for St. Joseph County Red Cross says, "We are also very grateful for the fact that there were none of wonderful outpouring of community donations in our office.
That was all secured and at the bank and we didn't lose any of the monetary donations that our community has come forward with for the hurricane."
The St. Joseph County Red Cross does have a security system.
