A man was forced to hand over his laptop at knife point as he walked along the Grand Union canal in Brentford.
The 43 year-old man noticed another man walking along the canal towards him at 5.30pm on Friday August 12.
The man demanded his victim hand over his laptop, he refused and there was a brief scuffle before the thief pulled out a knife and the man handed over the machine.
The thief was described as black, about 6ft 1in, wearing a dark coloured hooded top and dark bottoms. Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Donna Davis on 020 8247 5940.
