School children compose downloadable track in 24 piece iPad performance

12.07.2011

The music curriculum may be altered forever after a group of school children composed and performed a downloadable track entirely on the iPad.

Entitled ‘You Make me so Electric’, the song was recorded by youngsters in a 24-piece iPad performance band formed by Neil Johnston of Store Van Music. Johnston writes music for the professional industry, as well as working in schools to teach the joy of music technology, and worked with leading technology firm Academia Ltd to compile the track.

In response to the growing use of iPads in UK schools, LapSafe® Products has launched the UnoCart™ for iPad charging trolley.

The UnoCart™ for iPad charging trolley allows schools to charge iPads en masse and share iPad ICT resources between classrooms. The iPad charging cart incorporates safe sync and charging for one MacBook or laptop in 16 and 32 bay iPad versions.

The UnoCart™ iPad charging trolley provides secure overnight storage space for a MacBook and allows iPads to sync to through the MacBook iTunes. The charging trolley also includes effective USB cable management and a top mounted socket with USB connectivity for the MacBook. A NoteLok™ security cable has been built into the charging trolley for securing the MacBook whilst on top of the cabinet during the synchronisation process.

The UnoCart™ iPad is available with three charging options, including ‘Sync only’, ‘Charge only’ and ‘Sync and Charge’. A factory setting or training can be given to provide scheduled ‘Sync and Charge’ cycles.

Complete with a three year warranty and 270° fold back fully opening doors, the UnoCart™ for iPads charges devices horizontally without ‘pull out shelves’, which can cause instability and a danger of the cabinet overturning. The rear of every charging trolley has a service access door designed for ICT technician’s use, with different locks to the front, which prevents both access by students, and theft access to the devices stored inside.

As with every product manufactured by LapSafe® Products, the UnoCart™ for iPad charging trolley has been independently CE Certified and meets HSE guidelines.

The children’s track, ‘You Make me so Electric’ is available for download from iTunes, and the video is available for viewing on YouTube.
